About this deal

He anticipated even more positive changes in the future, though he dreaded any potential interaction once his son was moved from solitary confinement to Gen-Pop.

Cons: Maybe reading this as a print/ebook rather than listening as an audiobook would have helped it seem less disorganized, but I’m not convinced. You made fun of animals by torturing them when you were still as young as in elementary because you were amazed at the internal organs of a living species.Berry-Dee now delves into the mind of perhaps the most sadistic and psychopathic killer of all time. Murphy is always a stickler for detail and production design, so one can only imagine that his ‘Monster’ is impeccable. Deuteronomy 6 gives us parents a very clear answer as to how we can train our children up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and that is to keep them constantly bathed in the Word—whether lying down or sitting, whether standing or walking, all of our family activities should be characterized by Scripture, and I need to remind myself of that as much as I do you. It does go into a lot of the more gruesome details of the case, so if you’re sensitive to that, I wouldn’t pick this up. I think Dahmer's psychological issues were mostly based on his feelings about his own homosexuality.

His name became immortal when I found out that American novelist Joyce Carol Oates wrote Zombie based on him. The solution is, therefore, that God COULD stop all the suffering, but he chooses not to, NOT because he is unloving (perish the thought) but because to do so would turn us all into puppets, we would have no free will, we would not be able to decide to make ourselves a few sex zombies. Instead he had to somehow unify the son he thought he knew and loved with a monster capable of unthinkable acts of violence. I am not a true-crime votary, but I had interest in Dahmer’s life story when my best friend kept on telling me about him.

Schwartz is an admirable, bad-ass female reporter/author and I thoroughly appreciate the honesty in her writing style.

In this new book he enters the mind of John Wayne Gacy, the real-life 'Killer Clown', often said to be the inspiration for Stephen King's evil Pennywise in It.The story follows Dahmer from age 12 up to, but not including, his first murder, two weeks after high school graduation. However, I found it too focused on the police and media involved in the case than the actual murders itself. My parents who live in Madison, I was visiting over the weekend and my dad and I were catching up what were watching, reading, and listening too. Pros: This book was written shortly after the murders and then updated in 2020, giving it the benefits of both immediacy and hindsight in its analysis.
