At the time of writing, the EK AIO 240 D-RGB was available for 120 dollars. This makes it a not so pricey cooler compared to other 240mm AIOs in the same size range, especially with ARGB capabilities. Compared to earlier market giants like Corsair, NZXT, and ARCTIC, EK has been very generous with the EK AIO 240 D-RGB features.
The EK-AIO Basic 240 comes with the two EK-Vardar S 120 Dark Edition fans. These are high-performance fans designed for liquid cooling solutions. These fans are rated for up to 2200 RPM ±10
is not a tough challenge for any cooler and resultantly all coolers are in the same range. Needless to say that EK-AIO Basic 240 is on the top with only 0.1°C difference. 4.7GHz All Cores To briefly mention internals, we have a separate tear-down video coming up that’ll talk about how the EK AIO series works and how it’s assembled. The biggest item of note is that it’s running a larger diameter plastic impeller, as compared to the smaller Asetek CLC impellers or the medium-sized Arctic metal impeller. The EK AIO also uses a massive electromagnet for the pump, something we’ll look at in the tear-down. Installation Procedure EK-AIO Basic 240 is again on top with a difference of 1.9°C over the Antec Neptune 240. 4.7GHz All Cores [Auto PWM] EK mostly tries to leverage its open loop competence in marketing its CLC, appealing to authority in one space to try and establish a foothold in a newer one. This is a common strategy and, thus far, we haven’t read anything horribly out-of-line or overmarketed. They say that it’s a “pre-filled pump-res combo design for a liquid cooling solution that’s ready to go straight out of the box,” which is all accurate. The res is the tank on the radiator, the rest is obvious.

Although the RGB effects on the Pump head are acceptable, they are not perfect, in my opinion. On the other hand, the fans are stunning, and with the RGB infiltrating from the inside, the Vardar S is a sight to see. Installation There is what seems to be a refill port on the radiator. It is reserved only the factory use. Don’t attempt to open the port as you may lose the atmospheric pressure of the loop.
The installation procedure is trivial with EK’s AIO series, as we’ve come to expect from most liquid coolers. It tends to be the air coolers, like Zalman’s CNPS20X and its abominable 26 screws to mount, where we see challenges in mounting hardware. Even Arctic’s was inconvenient and something the company is improving upon.
