About this deal

This time there's a 3.1.2ch Dolby Atmos soundbar strapped onto the stand which makes for a very tidy flagship OLED TV solution indeed. It comes in 48in, 55in and 65in sizes and the satisfaction that each time the soundbar has been tuned to make sure that the audio sounds as if it's coming from the centre of the screen. The maximum number of colors, which the display is able to reproduce, depends on the type of the panel in use and color enhancing technologies like FRC. Elsewhere, the connections are more prosaic. You’ve got four HDMI ports (including HDMI ARC), and they’re all HDR-ready with HDCP 2.2 support. You won’t get the latest HDMI 2.1 standard, and gamers looking to take advantage of the PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles’ variable refresh rate features will be missing out when they arrive – but it shouldn’t be a huge issue for most. That’s all the information we have about the Philips TV line-up for 2021. Read on for details of their 2020 TVs that are still on sale.

The 9206 is armed with a 100Hz VA panel for wide viewing angles. It features Philips’ Micro Dimming Pro system, but we’d expect the performance is less impactful than the Mini LEDs. That’ll likely be true of the picture engine too, which loses the AI processing and the ability to upscale SDR images to HDR. By default, Dolby Vision content triggers the HDR Personal preset, which is miles away from the intention of Dolby Vision. It’s a bizarre approach – some might say a slightly arrogant one – but it’s at least easily solved by manually switching to a more appropriate preset. The 5th Gen P5 AI engine powers the show and includes the Film Detection feature, as well as working with the set’s light sensor to tweak images depending on room brightness. In terms of gaming, this Mini LED is up to date with the latest trends and adds AMD’s FreeSync Premium Pro for reducing tearing and stutter. The Auto Game Mode should help reduce latency compared to the 2020 TVs. Power supply and consumption Information about the power supply and consumption, energy efficiency class, etc. 220VThat said, there's no reason to be majorly alarmed: while Google TV is an improvement over Android TV in terms of usability, its feature set is more or less the same. What's more, it essentially goes on top of Android TV 10, so there's no reason that Philips couldn't make it available as a software update if its TVs don't launch with it pre-installed. Philips 2021 TV range breakdown

Like many of the best OLED TVs on the market today, the Philips Ambilight 65OLED706 OLED is a great gaming television that offers 4K@120hz gaming with an automatic variable refresh rate. Of course, if you’re a competitive gamer we only recommend playing on a gaming monitor (typically less than 1ms) as the input delay on most OLED televisions is more than 10ms. What Inputs Does it Have? Disney+ subscription required. Subject to terms at https://www.disneyplus.com (c) 2020 Disney and its related entities. Disney+ is available in selected languages and countries. At the bottom of the range is the 7506. It boasts a better specification than the 7906 in a few respects, evident by the P5 Perfect Engine processor, DTS Play-Fi, as well as HDMI 2.1 support in VRR, eARC and ALLM. The longest time for my TV I’ve seen is 522 minutes before the OFFRS above and 254 hours before the JB, so that’s around 8 hours before needing the 10 minute refresh - does that fit with your on time? The ratio between the horizontal and the vertical side of the display. Some of the standard and widely used aspect ratios are 4:3, 5:4, 16:9 and 16:10. This television contains lead only in certain parts or components where no technology alternatives exist in accordance with existing exemption clauses under the RoHS Directive. The Philips OLED+936 has the identical OLED panel and processor set-up as the 986 above. It's the form factor and speaker system that differ. For sound, the best options are the Original and Movie modes. Original is best suited to regular TV content, which it reproduces clearly and faithfully, albeit with a touch of sibilance at the top and a little boominess in the bottom. With Philips Ambilight, every moment feels closer. Intelligent LEDs around the edge of the TV respond to the on-screen action and emit an immersive glow that's simply captivating. Experience it once and wonder how you enjoyed TV without it.

Philips OLED+986 (65-inch): The OLED+986 is an updated version of last year’s OLED+984 model. Key differences include a new 5th-gen P5 Intelligent Dual Picture Engine, which promises better quality colors, sharpness and contrast. Also worth noting is that Philips says the OLED+986 is the “best-sounding TV ever”. Although we’d usually advise you take that bold claim with a pinch of salt, because Bowers & Wilkins is on board, it’s worth paying attention to. The OLED+986 is available now. For now, the OLED806 features Android TV (v10) as an operating system. It’s not half-bad by the generally pretty bad standards of Android TV, with a good selection of apps (including Disney+ but not Apple TV) and a layout that’s marginally less infuriating than on previous Android TV interfaces. Philips has for a long time used the Android TV platform for its TVs, so it's little surprise that its 2021 models get the most recent 10 version. What is a little surprising, is that there's so far been no mention of Google TV integration. This new UI launched with the latest version of the Google Chromecast and is already confirmed to be coming to Sony's 2021 TVs, so we had expected Philips to announce the same. The pixel pitch shows the distance from the centers of two neighboring pixels. In displays, which have a native resolution (the TFT ones, for example), the pixel pitch depends on the resolution and the size of the screen.

We’d speculate that some of the 800 series OLED features, such as the Fast Motion Clarity, may not make it to this model. No release date or price has been revealed yet. It only has three-sided Ambilight so you don't get the full four-sided effect elsewhere but it's a reasonable concession to make for the price.
